Young children need to be assured that all feelings, either good or bad, can be neither right nor wrong. Feelings are just feelings and are acceptable to have and express. Some behaviors, however, may not be acceptable or helpful. In this book, the little guinea pig feels sad. Children can discover they are not alone in their feelings. When they are allowed to stop having to justify their feelings and feel accepted, then they can move on to find ways in which to take care of themselves. A fantastically helpful book for children 3-9 years old.
